Revolution Venture Studios: Kyle Robertson’s Next Entrepreneurial Project

Following his success in backing two early digital health companies—Cerebral and ZealthyKyle Robertson shifted his focus to a new and ambitious initiative: equipping the next generation of healthcare and wellness entrepreneurs. Revolution Venture Studios (RVS) is more than a venture fund—a venture-building studio with a very active approach to sparking great ideas and developing them into market leaders. Using RVS as a platform, Robertson applies the disruptive force of mentoring, operating experience, and capital to co-founding companies with the potential to upend markets and make real impact.

Kyle Robertson first made national headlines when he began Cerebral early in 2020. As the COVID-19 pandemic brought in-person mental health treatment to a halt, Cerebral offered a timely solution—offering online therapy, prescription management, and around-the-clock online care. At a moment of unprecedented demand, the platform opened up accessible mental health treatment to millions of patients. Under Kyle Robertson‘s leadership, Cerebral expanded exponentially and achieved a valuation of $4.8 billion as of 2022. Cerebral not only demonstrated that digital health could scale, but that it could fill critical gaps in care at the very moment it was necessary.

Following the success of Cerebral, Kyle Robertson founded Zealthy, a direct-to-consumer telemedicine solution focused on continuous health and well-being care. Zealthy made it simple to treat issues such as hair loss, weight, skin, and sexual health—without the wait and expensive visits. Because of the streamlined and private experience as well as the emphasis on affordability, Zealthy became a hub for hundreds of thousands more users and cemented further the position of Robertson as a telehealth pioneer. By working at Revolution Venture Studios, Robertson is utilizing his experience to make it easier for other entrepreneurs to construct the next great healthcare companies. RVS is more of a co-founding partner and less of a passive investor. RVS is a partner who is deeply committed to working with entrepreneurs from day number one—sometimes before a company is legally established. Robertson and the team get deeply engaged in company-building, hiring the leaders to move companies forward, product development, and go-to-market strategy. The model is meant to put a strong foundation behind new companies from day number one.

So far, RVS has already fostered a string of successful companies such as Amara, a medspa platform founded and operated by Lisa Amara; Bioverse, a longevity science business founded and launched by Daniel Fortunato; to ScribeAI, an artificial intelligence medical note-taking business launched and founded by Matt Holmes. Each benefits from being able to tap into the personal experience and collective wisdom built through his own entrepreneurial endeavors. In the future, Kyle Robertson envisions RVS as a long-term engine of health and wellness innovation. He hopes to foster a number of companies in parallel and build a values-driven community of entrepreneurs. His focus is not on returns, but creating sustainable businesses that make a positive impact in the lives of people. Redefining the conventional model of the startup accelerator, Kyle Robertson is creating a healthier and more diverse future–one startup at a time.
